A HEALER'S HAVEN
A doctor and dentist's new home creation built from the ground up; where health, well-being, and good design come together, guided by The Chart™.
What was most desired? A peaceful refuge to come home to, a haven to share with his growing family, and invited guests, and a place to promote his own healing after a long day of caring for others. At over 3,000 sq. ft., this townhouse was designed from top to bottom.
BEFORE
Together, we chose new flooring, custom walnut wood stains, sexy manly kitchen details, and new and vintage lighting.
All the art was placed specifically to draw the eye up, creating the illusion of even loftier ceilings. I was inspired by the good doctor's passion for collecting mid-century and art deco furniture, vintage German pottery, and an array of contemporary Canadian art. I purposely placed and highlighted all of these lovely things against a serene colour design palette, all in Benjamin Moore paint, and based on his personal chart.
We created five individual bathroom designs, including tiles and placement. Staircase design, window treatments, basement design, and even millwork for a new baseboard look to get away from builder's boredom – entirely fashioned to a very select environment.

A furniture placement "broken" plan was created for some areas of this four-level home – with so much open space, artful ways to define specific living areas were needed. This was accomplished with half walls, screen-like shelving, and furniture placement.
